Among the popular sicilian Saints, S. Agata has the primacy, both for her history and for the great festival that animates Catania – of which she is patron – in the days from 3 to 5 February. The Feast of Sant’Agata is an ethno-anthropological and UNESCO heritage and the devotion to the saint takes on many facets, transversely between the sacred and the profane.
A peculiarity of the feast of Sant’Agata involves many traders – especially in the historical city centre – who never miss an opportunity to decorate the windows in honour of Agata. In Via Umberto, Andrea Guardo created this design of the patron saint on the window of the renowned store Meu Chapéu, and February is tinged with celebration. Cittadini W Sant’AITA! Cettu Cettu.
