It is the first experimental space of the Diffused Museum of the City of Catania, a cultural project created by FCE and IBAM C.N.R. Catania. The idea is to rethinking the stations of the metro as a network of museum installations. The mezzanines, platforms and waiting areas of each station will host multimedia devices and integrated information systems to accompany the visitor to discover a monument or a portion of the city. 3D reconstructive drawings and a glossary illustrate the geometry of the Roman Amphitheatre of the nearby Piazza Stesicoro – the focus of this station – while a timeline transforms the use of escalators into a journey through the main historical phases of the story of this part of the city and the amphitheatre, from its construction to abandonment and its rediscovery.
